Shanahan) Lee, 92, of Hudson and formerly of Bolton, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at The Reservoir Center in Marlborough. She was the wife for 40 years of the late David I. Lee, who died in 1986.She was born and raised in Marlborough, the daughter of the late William J. and Theresa (Marinelli) Shanahan, and was a 1942 graduate of St. Michael’s Catholic High School in Hudson.Ellen was a chef for Nashoba Regional High School for 38 years, retiring in 2000, and previously worked at LaPointe Machine Tool Co. in Hudson for several years.She enjoyed music, dancing, swimming, cooking, and was an avid reader. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed a special bond with her grandchildren.She leaves three daughters, Mary J. Nichols and her husband Jeffrey of Bolton, Virginia A. Lee of Hudson, and Christine R. Gasparoni and her husband Richard of Marlborough; a sister, Mary Orareo of Florida; a brother, John Shanahan of Charlton; four grandsons and five granddaughters; five great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters; and a daughter-in-law, Elin Lee of Lancaster. Ellen was the stepmother of the late Kenneth A. Lee of Lancaster and sister to the late Rita Glynn of Norwood.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 26, at 11 a.m., in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, South Bolton Road, Bolton. Sandstrom, 77, husband of Margaret-Rose Sandstrom for 46-years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 31, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital.Born September 26, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Mary Catherine O’Keane Sandstrom and Frederick Sandstrom. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Construction Battalion Seabee serving in the Vietnam War from 1962-1964 before retiring in 1991 as Chief Warrant Officer-4. In 1962, he began a 54-year career with Con Edison as a Transformer Specialist, retiring in August 2016. In his spare time, John enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and thirteen grandchildren. He is survived by his son Richard and wife Carrie of York, South Carolina, daughters Rosemary Casey and her husband Kevin of Ridgefield, Conn, Annemarie DeVille and her husband Adam of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Catherine Sweeney and her husband Shawn of Tiverton, Rhode Island, and Mary-Theresa Sandstrom of West Warwick, Rhode Island. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brandon, Caroline, James, Thomas, and Joseph Casey; Ephraim, Aiden, Anastasia, and Helena DeVille; Christian, Ryan, and Daniel Sweeney; and Richard P. Sandstrom. He is also survived by his three siblings twin sister Mary Sandstrom-Hennigan and her husband Brian of Rensselaer, New York, brother Rev. Philip Sandstrom of Brussels, Belgium, and sister Clare Blatz and her husband Greg of Rensselaer, New York, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, April 6, from 4-8:00pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 7 at 10am in Saint Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry St, New Canaan, Connecticut. Foxwell, 83, of Cambridge passed away peacefully at her home early Friday, March 3, 2017 with her husband and family by her side.Born July 10, 1933 at the Eastern Shore Hospital, where her father Willard took care of the farm and milked the cows. She was the daughter of the late Elessa Fouth Westbrook and Willard Ward Schuyler. After her education she went on to enjoy a career in healthcare as a nurse at Dorchester General Hospital. Alice retired with better than 25 years of service in the Maternity Ward and the Emergency Room.Alice really loved her dogs. She also enjoyed being a housewife. She was an excellent cook and loved gardening. She took great pride in the appearance of her flower beds and her house in general. The same pride carried on to her appearance. She was always dressed to a tee with her hair styled to perfection. Alice’s greatest love was for her family and her church. She had a special love for her grandchildren. Her many friends from her church of over 42 years she also considered family. All will miss her compassionate and loving manner.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers that provided such wonderful loving care to Alice during her recent decline in health.Surviving is her husband of over 41 years, Wendell O.
